Happy New Year!
MMXX – 2020
It’s a new year and a new decade and 2020 is also a leap year (so a premature happy birthday to all you Leaplings out there)!
I thought I’d kick off 2020 with a look back over my favourite products of the past twelve months. When I started compiling it I must admit I did panic that there would be little to work with given the reduction in the number of posts being published each month, however thankfully the beginning of the year was so packed with great products I needn’t have worried!
Here are my Top Five products of 2019…
Stem Cell Facial Sunscreen – Madara (£29.00)
Madara’s Stem Cell Age Defying Sunscreen is a mineral based facial sunscreen with an SPF30 which ensures broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection.
Formulated using stem cells from Northern Dragonhead (a member of the mint family) which delivers a hyper-dose of antioxidants, shielding and protecting the skin against urban pollution. It also works to prevent sun damage, including dryness, wrinkles, pigmentation, dark spots and loss of volume.

This Strawberry Seed Oil was purchased on a complete whim following hearing rave reviews on social media.
Designed to be intergrated into your existing skincare routine, BYBI Strawberry Booster is made from 100% cold pressed strawberry seeds (the tiny bumpy bits on the outside of the fruit) which are considered waste from the juicing industry. The oil is super rich in the essential fatty acids Omegas 3 and 6 and particularly nourishing and soothing, so it is great for hydrating and nourishing the skin, making it an ideal additon to the routine of anyone with dry, flaky or sensitive skins. It smells absolutely divine to boot!

Greenhouse Renewing Oil Cleanser – Inner sense
If I had to put these five products in order of preference then if I was totally honest, this cleansing oil may just top the chart…
Designed for skin which is combination to dry and prone to sensitivity, Greenhouse contains a host of ingredients which have a beneficial effects on the skin. The list of oils within the product is pretty extensive with carrot, safflower, jojoba and apricot to name but a few!
I’m not going to start going on about it here but can I just mention the scent…

To be honest it was a toss up between this and the Inika Long Lash post but this one won – just!
The secret to this mascara is the curvy wand, which lifts the lashes and wings out your lashes, giving the illusion of wider, more open eyes. The vegan formulation is enriched with vitamin E which means that it does not dry out your lashes but it also contains organic carnauba wax which gives it the right amount of slip. Not too wet and not so dry that it flakes and clumps.

Powder Blusher – Couleur Caramel
Whilst cream blushers get my vote every time, there are times however when only a powder blush will do and in these cases I almost invariably find myself turning to my trusty Couleur Caramel Blush Powders.
The blusher powder is miconised and so together with hydrating ingredients such as olive oil derived squalene and Shea butter, they feel great on the skin. They go on smoothly and even when built up, I haven’t experienced any caking.

In a top five list, can there be six..?
Cheekily I have to give a special mention to these guys… The Luxury Make-up Removal Pads from Cheeky Wipes.
Of all of my products, these are possibly the things which have been used most over the past year.
Not only are they super, super pretty (always a bonus in a kit full of black containers and bags) but the wipes are double sided (with plush minky fabric on one side and a textured bamboo viscose on the other) and at roughly 11cm in diameter they are a good size for removing make-up from larger areas and gentle enough to use on the eye area.

I’m not a cosmetology specialist so I can’t tell you what are my favorite products. But I want to thank you because you gave me few ideas for gifts for my wife. Thanks!
Glad I could help :)
