So. Last week I attended a screening of the feature film which I spent last summer working on and so I thought I would share the make-up I wore for the evening as several people commented on my Instagram post (above @eyelikepandas).
Held at the lovely Institute of Light in Hackney, it was very much smart/casual affair and so I kept it relatively low key – No red carpet glamour for this one. Stupidly I deleted the really good photo I took before I left the house and so had to re-take a shot of my make-up in the ladies halfway through the evening – by which time (as you can see from the shot) my hair had decided to do it own thing and was thoroughly misbehaving (standard behaviour I might add)!
I don’t usually wear foundation (unless it’s a particularly special occasion) as I generally find it too heavy on my skin so I started with Green People DD Tinted Moisturiser and hid any blemishes and shadows with W3ll People Bio Correct Multi-Action Concealer.
Looking a little different from the main image is a close up of the eye make-up. It’s taken in different light hence the seeming change of colour but its the same make-up.
Not wanting to go overboard on the make-up front, I opted for a slight smokey eye with the focus being around the outer corners and socket rather than all over and for this I used the two darker shades and the lightest shade from the Lavera Purple Fantasy palette (below). This is a palette I’ve had kicking around in my own make-up bag for a while (I think it may have been discontinued now) but it’s great want to create a little interest to the eye rather than make a big impact. I also ran a thin line of Couleur Caramel Liquid Liner along my lash line and finished with Green People Mascara.
On the apples of my cheeks and slightly up onto the cheekbone I applied W3ll People Universalist stick in Berry Aubergine and added a touch of Dr Hauschka Loose Powder to my T-zone. I finished with my current favourite red on the lips – Living Nature Pure Passion.
It took me about 15/20 minutes all told. Quick and effective.
P.S
For those interested in the outfit – I can’t find a full length shot sadly. My dress was from favourite store Earth Kind Originals, the denim is an old H&M one and the boots are from El Naturalista. The jewellery is by Birmingham based jewellery designer Anna de Ville.
