Autumn days traditionally mean that bright lipsticks tend to be and opt for warmer, more muted shades. This Autumn/Winter is no different however a few curve balls were in amongst the conventional shades on the catwalks this season.
Here are my Top Five lipstick shades for this season…
Tourne – Bite Beauty ($24.00)
Orange lips transition easily between summer and autumn. Tourne is a vibrant orange from the new Liquifid lipstick collection from Bite. It’s a warm orange with a long lasting creamy finish that looks great on almost any skin tone.
Rouge Bordeaux – Absolution (£24.00)
Berry lips have become a staple of te autumn/winter season and this year is no exception. My current favourite deep berry is Absolution’s Rouge Bordeaux (created in collaboration with French Make-up Artist, Christophe Danchaud); a beautiful deep red with purple undertones that is highly pigmented and has a lovely semi-matte finish.
Moment – RMS Beauty (£24.00) (GF)
If you are disinclined to the strong, deeper tones then this seasons trend for a caramel lip may be more up your street. Created specifically for Brazilian Supermodel Gisele Bundchen, Moment Lip Shine is a neutral caramel brown shade which not only looks lovely on its own but is also great for neutralizing the natural pink in the lips.
Cherry – Couleur Caramel (£15.00)
Blood Red lips were another favourite on the runways this season and although It’s the cheapest on my list today, Couleur Caramel’s Cherry doesn’t fail on colour payoff. One of my favourite reds, Cherry is a highly pigmented, rich red with a slight blue/purple undertone. A lovely Red which looks great on darker skin tones and pinker fairer skins.
Ink Pot – Ilia Beauty (£24.00) (GF)
H&M were rocking the Violet lip this season and I love it! It may not be the colour for everyone but it is sometimes good to push yourself out of your comfort zone and try something a little more vibrant. In terms of colour Ink Pot is a fabulous Violet with blue undertones. It looks great on all skin tones and can be applied using a finger or blotted down for a sheerer wash of colour or layered up to give a stronger finish.
