I am a complete believer in love at first sight and also in love at first use. Sometimes a product comes along that just blows everything else out of the water. This is one of them…
Although it had been on my radar for a while, Hyaluroil Lip Treatment from Twelve Beauty (£28.00) came into my possession via an unexpected source; I won a bottle of it in an Instagram competition, run by the people who know how to do green and curly hair better than anyone else Bouclème
The perfect antidote for winter ravaged, dehydrated, chapped and/or flaky lips, Hyaluroil is an intensive lip treatment designed to soothe, plump and provide your lips with long lasting hydration. To be frank I think it may just be the best bloody lip saviour I have ever tried.
The treatment is handmade in small batches using 100% natural ingredients. A blend of Sunflower oil, Vitamin E and Argan oil form the basis of this fabulous oil and are all beneficial ingredients in their own right. Cupuaçú, a natural emollient is full of antioxidants and helps relives dry, chapped lips and Konjac Root Powder helps to retain moisture – which leads me on to the star ingredient. An infusion of encapsulated hyaluronic acid provides the hydration in this treatment as well as stimulating the production of elastin and collagen.
On the lips it feels lovely; intensely nourishing and rich. Despite this it doesn’t feel as if you have an oil slick on your lips either. In fact once its on you don’t really notice it at all. There isn’t any scent to speak of – at least none that I have noticed, so those sensitive to fragrance needn’t fear.
It is suggested that Hyaluroil is applied to the lips every four hours for two days before dropping back to an as and when needed basis, it is also recommended that you apply it before you go to sleep. Not being particularly good at following rules, I’ve been whacking it on whenever I fancy it – frequently…
But does it work? Oh yes.
I had pretty dry lips for a few weeks prior to receiving Hyaluroil ; a bout of some flu-y type bug and the recent weather left my lips a little on the crispy side but typically I won this bottle of oil once they were on the mend! Nevertheless I applied it and it felt lovely but given my not particularly bad lips, it wasn’t much of a challenge. My daughter however had been suffering from incredibly chapped lips over the past few weeks. On the off chance of it doing something positive for her, I pounced and applied a little to her lips; it worked almost instantly and after just a couple of doses her lips were back to normal – amazing! She is repeatedly requesting it now so I need to watch out ;)
The rollerball design is a positive and a negative for me. It is great for personal use and super handy to keep in your bag and it would also be a great addition to my pro kit but this is where the rollerball applicator isn’t ideal. I would love to apply it to whomever is in my make-up chair before they go on set (4k can be pretty unforgiving at times); it would be a great pre-lip colour treatment but the rollerball isn’t a particularly hygienic applicator when using on multiple people.
Pedro, please consider a mini refill bottle so some could be decanted and applied using a brush or finger. Pretty please…
Have you tried this lip treatment yet?
