The brainchild of Emmy-nominated Make-up Artist JoAnn Fowler, Sappho Organics was born out of an idea formed whilst shooting US/Canadian TV series The L Word. This lovely range is made up of just five products: foundations, powder, blusher, eyeshadows and concealer.

This small, family run business batch produce a fabulous range of products produced using locally-sourced, sun-dried glacial clay from Vancouver Island. The vegan friendly collection consists of a variety of base, eye, lip and cheek products, many of which can be custom blended to match your requirements.

When it comes to clean lip colour there aren’t many brands who can stand shoulder to shoulder with the likes of Tom Ford or MAC for quality, colour or wear. Bite Beauty are one that can (and do) and they have become one of my go-to brands for lip colour. I love the range of products and the spectrum of shades is fantastic! Unfortunately not available in the UK at present but they can be purchased via Sephora (US)

Uncomplicated beauty is the tagline for this, the only brand on this list I haven’t tried. Da Lish is antioxidant rich make-up (and soon skincare) range produced in Canada using as many locally sourced, nature and organic ingredients as possible. Apparently celebrity Eco Make-up Artist Katey Denno is a fan of the range too

My other favoured brand for clean, green lipstick is Ilia Beauty. A small and perfectly formed brand which originally specialised in a variety of lip products, however in recent years the company has expanded and now includes foundation, concealers and eye products.
It goes without saying that I love the Ilia lipsticks (my thoughts on Wild Child and Neon Angel) and their introduction of darker toned bases is much appreciated.
Have you tried any of these brands? What did you think?
