This months delve into my vault of posts brings to light the Neal’s Yard Remedies facial wipes *cue dramatic music*. Love them or loathe them facial wipes do have their uses and whilst personally I eschew wipes the majority of the time, I am an occasional but unashamed user. In my mind they do have their place – even […]

If you follow me on Instagram (an/or twitter) then you may have noticed I spent Saturday at the Goodroots festival in East London. Held in the unique MC Motors warehouse in Dalston and billed as an Urban Wellness and Good Food festival, Goodroots is a new addition to the festival scene (I believe this is  it’s first […]

I love colours mascara so I was incredibly excited to hear that one of my favourite Eco beauty brands W3ll People was building on their existing lash provision.

    Hi,
I’ve tried the W3ll People Expressionist Mascara and it makes my eyes water and itch. I’ve read one of your previous posts and you mentioned that you stopped using the Jane Iredale conditioning mascara. Is there some reason?
I hope I don’t have to stop using it due to bad ingredients…
I use it together with the Neil’s Yard mascara and it works quite well…

Any other recommendations for a good clean mascara except W3ll People?
I find the Neil’s Yard one doesn’t hold on its own.

    Thanks,
    Natalie.ReplyCancel

Hi Natalie, thanks for getting in touch.
I’m sorry to hear the W3ll People mascara irritates. Have you tried the Green People one? This has a similar finish however may be more suitable.
JI lash conditioner has great volumising properties however I didn’t feel I needed to add volume to the W3ll People mascara, nor with the Green People so just didn’t use it. I still use the lash conditioner however I have run out and not replaced, simply because I haven’t gotten around to it -I need to as my lashes are starting to loose their evenness again!! (must do this today). It does improve the staying power of the NYR mascara for sure.
I hope this helps, let me know how you get on :)

    Hi Lara,
Thanks! I was relieved to hear that its not because of some evil ingredient.
I will definitely give the Green People mascara a try. Do you recommend the black or black/brown shade? Have you tried the Nu Evolution mascara? I’ve read good reviews about their mascara and as well as the rest of their products.
They don’t have shipment to Israel, so I need to figure out how to order it.

    I’ll keep you posted :-)
I really love reading you blog and professional reviews.

No worries Natalie, I would suggest the black mascara unless you are very, very fair. I haven’t tried Nu Evolution mascara as yet – it’s on my list!! :)
Keep in touch and glad you enjoy the read

The OCC creme colours look great. How do they work on oily lids?

I’ve rediscovered the bio solis face spf (30). not greasy and no white cast. And the renewed dr Hauschka foundation. Colour is perfect but a bit to dewy for my liking. Still looking for the perfect mattifying powder.
I’ve ordered some lip pencils form Avril in summery colours, read some good reviews on them and two concealer from them. Don’t know if there good but yet. I will receive them this week.ReplyCancel

      Hey there,
Being a cream formulation, on lids the OCC creme colours do move so oily lids can be problematic.Even on non poly lids I won’t use them on any job that means I can’t go in for constant touch up as they are high maintenance. You could try a primer underneath or even a powder if you don’t want to blend too much.
I have’t tried the Bio Solis Facial SPF. Must hunt that out and take a closer look. The Avirl eye pencils are lovely. I haven’t used the lip ones but if the formulation is similar then you are on to a winner. The concealer is nice too but I find concealer something that is very much personal preference. What works for one doesn’t always work for another.
Let me know how you get on

Sometimes there is nothing like an eye make-up remover for cooling and soothing tired eyes (almost nothing). My recent spate of late nights and early starts have started to take their toll on my eyes; add in some early signs of hayfever (incredibly late in coming on this year) which as it progresses manifests itself […]

One evening over Christmas (and most likely a glass of white) my partner and I were discussing my little blog; it’s (then potential) transition from Blogger to WordPress and things worked and didn’t work. During this chat he (and I have to give him the credit for this one) came up with the idea of Organic […]
