Organic Beauty and Wellbeing Week kicks off today. Until the 13th September, the Soil Association’s week long campaign is aimed at raising awareness of certified organic beauty and wellbeing products; highlighting the importance of certification and encouraging consumers to make sustainable choices.
Did you know, there is no legislation in place to monitor the use of the word “organic” within beauty & wellbeing products?
Don’t worry – you’re not the only one. Over 50% of people asked by research by the Soil Association didn’t know either, which is why opting for Organic Certification is so important.
The campaign aims to show people that how the choices they make can really have an impact. By making one small swap and choosing an organic product over your usual one on a regular basis (be it shower gel or foundation), you are helping support a system which is working towards combating our climate emergency and biodiversity loss.
Buying organic beauty product ensures:
Sustainably sourced ingredients
Protected wildlife and biodiversity
No controversial chemicals
No synthetic colours, dyes or fragrances
NEVER tested on animals
Minimal packaging with maximum recycled content
Looking for the ‘Soil Association Organic’, or the ‘Soil Association COSMOS Organic’ logo. These logos show that the product you are buying has met the stringent certification standards.

Hi Jenna
Glad I could be useful. It’s an annual event. Oftener there are demos and things organised but it’s all digital this year :(
