Lavera Natural Concealer

It’s been a particularly busy summer work wise – this is great and I’m not complaining in the slightest but it does catch up on you. The combination of easy starts, late finishes not to mention a lack of exercise and a typical onset diet that has been less than healthy means I’ve found myself reaching for the concealer a little more than usual…

Lavera Natural Concealer (£10.90) is a product I picked up at my local health food store some time ago. I used it a couple of times but I misplaced it – the story of my life! Recently however I rediscovered the concealer and put it back into use.

A cream product designed for specifically for the delicate skin around the eye area, it is super silky and lightweight and packed full of beneficial ingredients to nourish and care for the skin. Organic Shea Butter and Jojoba and Coconut oils moisturise the skin, reduce inflammation and have antioxidant properties. Sea Buckthorn extract calms and Vitamin C helps to reduce dark circles and hyper pigmentation. Quite possibly the star of the show however is Liquorice Root Extract; which is the perfect antidote to dark circles and can also be effective in improving the appearance of an uneven skin tone.

I’m not a fan of the cover the whole under eye area with concealer approach (the reverse panda), I’m more of a put it where you actually need it kinda gal. I generally dot a little directly onto the area I need the coverage and blend by dabbing it with a clean finger; It goes on and blends really easily. I primarily focus on my under-eye shadow lines and the slight pinkness I have around my nostrils and just below my lower lip. I’m lucky thats I don’t suffer from particularly dark shadows for the most part (now that child related sleepless nights are a thing of the past [mostly]) so I usually only need a little something to brighten and lift the colour under my eyes.

This concealer has a standard gloss style applicator which I’ve been using quite happily on myself  however with tubes like this I tend to use with a separate brush if I’m using them in my kit to ensure hygiene in maintained.

Available in just two shades (Ivory and Honey) it is very much for those at the fairer end of the spectrum; Ivory has pink tones whereas Honey (#3) is more yellow. Although  I find Ivory (#1) a little too much on the pink side on application, once blended it works perfectly on my fair skin. I haven’t attempted to use Honey as I’m fair convinced it would be a little dark for me.

This particular concealer doesn’t have particularly heavy coverage, so if you suffer with dark circles or have a lot of discolouration around the eye area this probably isn’t the concealer for you. On the other hand if you just need something to lighten and brighten then it may be just up your street.

Have you tried this concealer?
