Lavera Hazel Brown Styling Gel

Sadly still no way to upload images – hopefully this will be rectified very soon. In the mean time… A couple of years ago ago I wrote about a staple of my male grooming kit; the Lavera Eyebrow Styling Gel. Not having written about a brow product for a while, I thought I would share my thoughts on its sibling…

Lavera Hazel Blonde Styling Gel (£10.50) is to put it simply, the tinted version of the original; a brow mascara designed to tame and secure stray hairs – but with the added bonus of a little colour.

The Hazel Blonde Styling gel is a brown toned taupe making it perfect for those with fair to medium brown eyebrows. It has a slight ashy-ness so I wouldn’t recommend it for anyone with hair much darker than this – I wouldn’t generally consider using this on a male grooming job unless a client had particularly fair brows.

Designed to define, tame and colour, you don’t need a huge amount of the gel to make your brows look good. Heavy handed-ness can lead to a build up of product which in turn can result in them looking a little clumpy in places (I’ve learnt from experience).

To avoid those unwanted lumps and clumps simply comb through the eyebrows prior to application and then remove excess product from the wand before lightly runnng it upwards through the brows. Finish by using the enclosed brow brush to remove any build up and pull the brows into place.
As with the original, the gel contains a blend of nourishing and protecting ingredients. Organic cocoa and shea butters, combined with a variety of botanical oils give the hair a healthy sheen.

Packaged in a traditional tube, Style and Care comes with a duel ended brush, with the gel tube containing the mascara-style wand and the lid houses a handy brow brush, which is ideal for personal use rather than multi-person professional kit use due to hygiene (for kits I suggest using a disposable wand or angle brush).

I really like this gel. It doesn’t get anywhere near the amount of outings that it’s clear counterpart does but it is one of those handy, just in case products.

Have you tried this brow gel?
