Content Lip Shine by RMS Beauty

Finally we are back up and running on the image front and so I thought I’d kick start things with a little colour – and a little on one of the more recent launches from the doyenne of clean beauty Rose-Marie Swift…

Launched in May 2016 (from what I recall) RMS Beauty Lip Shine in Content (£22.00) is one of the latest additions to the RMS Beauty. I was kindly given a pot of this by a close friend (whom I know will be reading this so 😘) for my birthday last year and over the past few months it has definitely become one of the most used products in my bag.

Content (named I believe, after the Marylebone store) is a richly-pigmented classic berry red, however it is nothing to be scared of. One light coat applied with the tip of a (clean) finger will stain the lips with a soft flattering blush, intensifying your natural lip shade. Two will give a noticeable deep red/pink toned finish and three will give you full on bright berry (I’d say raspberry-esque)! The colour is long lasting and can easily go much of the day without being touched up – if you are happy to dial back the impact as the day goes on and finish with just a bit of a bitten lip stain.Top to Bottom: 1 Coat (taken at a later time); 2 coats; 3 coats

This is the first Lip Shine I have owned as I tend to favour a matter finish to my personal lip colour however I have been surprised by just how much I’m loving the finish. The shine in Lip Shine is only truly evident when you give it it’s all and go full on with the colour; with one or two coats there is a definite sheen to the finish but nothing obviously shiny. Once the colour has been on the lip for a while the shine subsides to a soft glow.

With a blend of organic oils, waxes and butters, such as coconut, beeswax and cocoa butter, the formulation is highly emollient and deeply hydrating. Nutrient rich Buriti oil is a firm favourite of founder Rose-Marie Swift and so of course this is packed with the stuff, whilst fatty acids, vitamin A and C provide antioxidant protection.

There are five other Lip Shine’s in the collection, maybe I should just take a closer look…
