Month Nine in my A-Z of natural and organic make-up brands! I is up next, bet you can’t guess who’s in this months selection ;)
Who Are They? Ilia Beauty are on their way to becoming one of the biggest names in organic make-up. A Canadian brand founded by Sasha Plavsic.
Eco-Credentials: A predominately natural range with up to 85% bioactive organic ingredients in each product, certified cruelty and gluten free.
The Products: High performance products which could give conventional brands a run for their money. What started off as a tiny company with just six tinted lip conditioners has evolved to become a near complete
Favourite Products: The Ilia lipsticks and crayons feature heavily in my pro kit (and on this blog – here, here and here), I also love the mascara and beautiful Fade Into You Finishing powder. There are also a fantastic range of base products – in a realistic range of skin tones!! Whoohoo!!
Who Are They? One of the first green make-up companies I came across and one I still use to this day. Inika were founded in 2006 by Miranda Bond after she overcame her battle with endometriosis.
Eco-Credentials: Certified organic by the Organic Food Chain Australia and Organic Cosmetic Italy, 100% natural, Vegan and certified Cruelty Free by Australia’s Choose Cruelty Free Organisation.
The Products: From primer to finishing powder the company have formulated a fantastic range of both pressed and loose powder products which tick pretty much every box. The shade selection is relatively small (especially in terms of base products) but they are lovely.
Favourite Products: Where do I start? Love the hydrating Primer (which reminds me I need to buy some more!), the organic eyeliner pencils (which somehow I have never written about – I need to rectify that! ), the Reflect Highlighting Creme and the lip pencils!
Who Are They? Handmade in London, inspired by a beautiful vineyard in Ithaca, New York.
Eco-Credentials: Small batch, Free from synthetic perfume, Mineral oil, Petrochemicals, Preservatives, Phthalates, Lanolin, Carmine etc. Vegan friendly.
The Products: A small collection of tinted lip conditioners and balms in lovely shades. All packed full of nourishing ingredients such as cocoa butter, jojoba wax and oil, and apricot oil.
Favourite Products: I was kindly given one of the Lip Conditioners by the founder Kelly at an event last year (thank you Kelly), so this is the only product I have tried from the range.
As ever, if you think of any I have missed please let me know so I can update accordingly :)
