Top Five: Products of 2016

intro

As 2016 comes to a close, it’s time to take my annual look back over the products I have written about this year and work out which of the (at time of writing) forty products are my five favourites. This is usually a pretty hard task as I only include products I really like in the blog so whittling them down takes a lot of doing…

Here are my top five products of 2016…

Viseart No1 Palette (£59.95)

This palette is an essential part of my kit and I use it on pretty much every make-up I do. A twelve colour cream palette designed to correct, contour and camouflage. A highly versatile palette which can be used for everything from concealing and neutralising tattoos and hyper-pigmentation to highlighting and contouring a face, balancing complexions (I’ve even used it as eyeshadow) – it’s a fabulous palette and I’m not sure what I’d do without it!

YTTP Age Prevention Firm & Brighten Serum (£55.00)

This serum was a bit of game changer for me and a product which I have replaced twice since this original post (thankfully a bottle lasts me about 3 months so I can justify the price to myself – sort of). From the first application there was a noticeable change in the appearance and feel of my skin. My face looked instantly perkier; fine lines seemed to have diminished; my skin looked really velvety and felt amazing soft to the touch; even the other half commented on how great my skin looked (without being prompted)!

Odylique Natural Sunscreen (£25.00/£15.00)

If you’d have asked me at the beginning of the year if a sunscreen would be a product highlight of the year, I’d have definitely said no. This particular sunscreen was a winner with not only me but my four year old daughter too and from the moment I first opened the tube I was hooked; the scent is divine!

Angela Langford Bloom & Glow Radiance Restoring Facial Oil (£20.50)

Having been a relatively late convert to facial oils, I’ve worked my way through a lot over the past year and this was probably my oil highlight of 2016. A lightweight oil designed to balance the skin and restore radiance, there is a whole lotta goodness in one little bottle and I was a fan after the first use!

Living Nature Lipsticks in Pure Passion and Wild Fire (£19.50)

Ok, technically this is two products but I’m rolling them into one. I love a red lip so these carmine free lipsticks were a welcome addition to both my personal and professional make-up bags and are the latest additions to the range of lipsticks from New Zealand based Living Nature.  Wild Fire is a warm, classic red with an orange undertone whilst Pure Passion is a rich, deep red with a subtle crimson undertone – a duo perfect for any lover of red
