I am a reasonably recent but very enthusiastic convert to facial oils so when Skincare Chef Angela Langford kindly sent me a bottle from her range to roast-test I was pretty excited.
Firstly, and lets get this to of the way now, I use the word chef because Angela was a finalist on the cookery show Masterchef and from what I understand, she approaches the creation her products as she would a new recipe.
Bloom & Glow Radiance Restoring Facial Oil (£20.50) is a lightweight oil designed to balance the skin and restore radiance.
Angela says… “Perfect for sensitive, easily inflamed or generally out of kilter. This is your recipe gorgeous, glowing, radiant skin.”
I’m not entirely sure where to start with the ingredients breakdown but there is a whole lotta goodness in one little bottle; Chia seed and sea buckthorn improve elasticity, calm inflammation, restore radiance and promote cell regeneration. Add in a little reship oil and you have a healing formulation which reduces fine lines too. Regenerating antioxidant Q10 (yes it is a real thing) and Vitamin E protect and repair the skin whilst the inclusion of Evening primrose helps retain moisture. Jojoba oil smooths and softens and Bisabolol (derived from chamomile) calms and reduces inflammation. Phew!
I have found with oils that using them is more of a multi-sensory experience than with a regular cleanser; whilst massaging into the skin you are breathing in the scent and immersing yourself in the fragrance … This oil is no different; iIt smells divine thanks to the inclusion of rose geranium (which also helps balance hormones and clear congested skin btw).
The rich amber coloured oil sinks into the skin quickly and easily without leaving a greasy film or feel to the skin. If you follow instructions then one to two drops should suffice, however I am usually quite liberal with the amount of oil I use as I do like my skin to feel really nourished.
I have been using this oil for a couple of months now and can honestly say that my skin looks radiant! It does exactly what it says on the tin/bottle – I will definitely be investing in another bottle!
Have you tried anything from the Angela Langford range?
