Red Apple Lipstick in Manhattan

On International Kissing Day or World Kiss Day (yes its a thing) I posted an Instagram picture of my lips which got a lot of love on both my accounts (@organicmua / @eyeslikepandas) and so I felt I should share it with you on here too.

Manhattan ($18.00) is described as a deep sultry red, however despite the appearance in the pot, it does appear a pinker in the flesh than you would imagine with that tagline. The lipstick is shot through with a slight gold shimmer although on the lip this isn’t visible, it  simply enhances the satin finish.

On the lips Manhattan feels great; it is deeply moisturising and so there is no dryness on wear. I’ve applied this lipstick with both my finger and a lip brush and either way it goes on like a dream. It has great longevity and wears evenly – and doesn’t gather on the corners (I hate it when that happens!). I’ve worn it as part of a look and on its own i.e. with no other make-up on my face, and it looks fabulous both ways.

For those of you who haven’t come across Red Apple Lipstick then they are defiantly worth taking a look at; they have a  great range of shades; predominantly variations on nudes, reds and pinks. The lipsticks are formulated without lead, parabens and ingredients which are petroleum derived or genetically modified.

I received this sample (as you can see in the top image) in a Green Beauty Swap about a year ago so unfortunately I only have a sample sachet/pot (albeit very generously sized) of the lip colour and with Red Apple not being available in the UK, it will be a sad day when I scrape it clean…

It is worth mentioning that Manhattan is listed in the clearance section on the website and so I am not sure if it is about to be discontinued; it’s probably a good idea to drop Red Apple a line to find out before you become addicted.

Have you tried Red Apple Lipsticks?
