I’ve already covered this months product from the past a couple of times on here, back in 2016 and of course in the original 2013 post but I’m sure once more won’t hurt…
A limited edition compact, Dr Hauschka Balancing Teint Powder was released in 2011 as part of the Natural Glamour Winter Collection (the collection also contained an eyeshadow palette, kajal eyeliner duo and lip gloss), the Balancing Teint Powder is a beautifully designed trio of pressed powders designed to mattify your skin and enhance your features either by using individually or together.
As you know I don’t write about anything I don’t like or would use either in my kit or on myself but before we get started I must hold my hands up and admit that in all honesty it is the darkest shade in the compact that I find most useful and really like. The two paler shades are fine and work perfectly well as pressed powders but don’t really do anything for me beyond that – although they are fantastic for calming down an over zealous blush application!
Having said all of that, by following the instructions and combining all three shades to set or mattify you do get a very natural finish to your make-up but as I have previously mentioned, it is the darker tone that is the pick of the three. On pale to mid skins (it is a little light for many darker skin tones) the it shades beautifully, creating natural looking shadows and contours. It works successfully as a shader on all areas of the face including the socket and jaw lines and – possibly most importantly from my perspective; it looks great on camera!
Rich in Silk powder it it smooth and very easy to apply. As with pretty much all Dr Hauschka products, the powder has a slight yet pleasant rose scent and it is worth noting that it does contain fragrance which may not be suitable for some more sensitive skins.

Don’t you just hate it when a much loved product is discontinued, leaving a gaping hole in your make-up bag/fridge/life (edit accordingly). I loathe writing about products that no longer exist or are becoming increasing hard to get hold of as numbers dwindle. Sadly it is the case on this occasion – it was in the process of being discontinued as I wrote the original post.
Dr Hauschka briefly brought it back Teint Powder and a number of other products as part of their Spectacular Comeback collection. Sadly this was short lived and once again the powder is no more, except for in one Canadian Spa (Essential Day Spa) so if you are in Vancouver, get down there!!
I really hope that Dr Hauschka decide to make Balancing Teint Powder a permanent part of their collection in the future.
