D is For…

Continuing my alphabetical series of natural and organic make-up companies (you can find the previous three posts here, here and here), this month’s list is again quite short. As I have said before, although I’ve been doing my research I may still overlook a company so if you can think of any brands (from anywhere in the world) that I have missed then do give me a shout and I’ll add them to my list.

D is for..

Who Are They? A small natural make-up company which started life in the kitchen of founder Melanie Cruickshank.
Eco-Credentials: da Lish use as many locally sourced, natural ingredients as possible and are formulated without the phthalates, parabens, petrochemicals, GMO’s, gluten or sulphates.
The Products: This capsule make-up collection is small, currently consisting of a liquid foundation, a concealer, liquid eyeshadow plus a selection of lip products. There are a limited range of shades which are more suited to lighter skin tones.
Favourite Products: I haven’t tried any of the products so if you have, give me a shout!

Who Are They? One of the oldest and probably one of the most well known of the green make-up brands. One of the few who (like Neal’s Yard) are considered relatively mainstream and are found on many a department store and pro make-up store shelf.
Eco-Credentials: Certified natural or organic by NATRUE (at least 70% or 95% organic ingredients respectively). Almost all of the ingredients used are cultivated in controlled organic and where possible biodynamic environment. Sourced ingredients are from fair trade sources.
The Products: A small but near comprehensive range of colour cosmetics (they are missing a primer but otherwise most bases are covered). The collection consists of a classic selection of shades, there has recently been revamped and undergone a re-design and the black palettes, bullets and tubes are now a natty triangular shape.
Favourite Products: The Dr Hauschka No1 palette (this but rectangular in shape) was one of the first of the first green products which made it into my kit and I still use to this day. I also am a fan of the mascara – it was the first blue eco-mascara I liked too. Obviously we aren’t going to talk about their skincare (which I love), but they do that too…

Any more D’s spring to mind?
