Balance Me BB Natural Perfection

BBNPSPF_LARGEI always try to pack light when travelling (somewhat tricky with a young child as I am sure many of you will understand – plus your own needs don’t take priority!) and this goes for my make-up and skincare too. I have recently returned from a much needed family holiday to Alentejo, Portugal and wanted a product which had a little SPF in it which I could use as an everyday base.

After weighing up my options I plumped for BB Natural Perfection from Balance Me (£26.00). I have to admit one of the main sways for me for choosing this particular BB cream was that I could purchase a handy 10ml tube; just enough for a holiday and little left over too! Thats said, it turned out to be not such a bad choice after all…

I always prep my skin in the usual way with serum and oils before I apply a BB Cream however it isn’t vital. I have reasonably dehydrated skin which needs plenty of hydration so I do need that base first, If your skin is a little less dry then feel free to apply it straight onto cleansed skin. Weather used with or without other products it does go on and blends easily without feeling heavy or chalky.

BB Natural Perfection contains Abyssinian and Reship Oils to hydrate and Spruce Knot, Lotus Flower and Violet Seed extracts to reduce redness and even out skin tone. It also is rich in collagen boosting Blackberry Leaf extract which firms and smooths the skins surface whilst Hyaluronic Acid plumps the skin and locks in moisture, making it an ideal choice for mature skins too. The SPF 25 comes in the form of natural titanium dioxide which blocks both UVA and UVB rays.

Natural Perfection gives a light coating of colour (provided by natural mineral pigments) which brightens and evens out skin tones. The coverage is reasonably sheer and I did find I needed a little concealer under my eyes and around my nose to hide blemishes and shadows. The colour is pretty light which although perfect when I started my holiday, by the end I did feel that I was beginning to stretch it a little in terms of shade compatibility (and I am not a sun worshiper by any stretch of the imagination). Fingers crossed Balance Me introduce some other shades…

Have you tried BB Creams? Would you consider using them instead of foundation?
