Couleur Caramel eyeshadows are one of my go-to brands for pressed powder eyeshadows and have been staple of my pro kit since the early days. Their longevity and ease of wear is great and the range of shades in the collection is pretty big.
I wanted to share with you an eyeshadow which is my current favourite for when I have a free rein in what is being applied. With the C-word just a few weeks away, the festive party season is upon us and this eyeshadow is just perfect for the job and it has become a favourite of one of my regular TV presenting faces too :)
The glamorously named #153 (after some investigation I discovered it was actually named Beige Glow) is a very pretty eyeshadow from an Autumn/Winter collection a couple of years back. In the palette (I have mine in a [now discountinued] Unii Palette along with some other similar shades) it looks to be a densely pigmented cool toned light gold, shot through with a soft gold sparkle – it actually looks more like a cream product in the pan than a powder one!
On the skin in translates as a much softer shade. If you are looking for a heavily pigmented shadow with full coverage then this isn’t the shadow for you. It goes on as a fairly sheer wash of colour, however it can be built up to give a little more coverage (I think I applied three layers in the image above to intensify it but in the flesh it is definitely less pigmented than this). I generally use it when I’m looking for a shadow with a little pizzazz but with a subtle payoff to wash over the whole lid but I do use it as a highlighting shade for a more dramatic make-up.
As with any sparkly shadow, there is a little fallout from the glitter however otherwise it is pretty good about not transferring to where you would rather it wasn’t.
What are your festive favourites?
