Top Five: Pastels

759659512_60e6c6a9d7_zWith Pantone celebrating the calming, soothing properties of this years colour of the year Rose Quartz and Serenity this year, it is no surprise that there has been an influx of pastel hues popping up this spring.

The very mention of pastels may send you running for the hills, however pastels needn’t be girly; they can look sophisticated (trust me). Here are a few ideas:

When applying a pale eyeshadow, anchor it with a swipe of black liner and black mascara; alternatively if you fancy the idea of a pastel blush then use a cream product rather than powder and make sure its sheer, letting the natural skin tone come though. If you still aren’t convinced then just go for a pastel colour on your nails – there re some fabulous 5-free shades about this season!

Here are my Top Five favourite pastel beauty picks…

UnknownParma Violet Mineral Eye Shadow from Lily Lolo  (£5.99) (V)

A beautiful matte lilac loose mineral shadow. Apply as a delicate wash of colour over the lid or build up for a more intense finish. If you don’t fancy using it all over the lid, then use a dampened eyeliner brush and run a line along the base of the lashes

ILIABEAUTY_HoldMeNowHold Me Now Tinted Lip Conditioner from Ilia Beauty (£22.00)
If you loved the Tenderly multi-stick then you will love this! This pastel pink lip conditioner is super sheer and super cute (but not in that powder puff kinda way). If you can’t cope with the idea of full on pastel pink lip then this nourishing conditioner can be worn as a simple wash of colour paired with a neutral eye for the understated office look or built up for a statement lip.

Yellow eyeshadow may not be to everybody’s taste but this shimmering loose powder is utterly beautiful! A golden yellow which can be used as a wash of colour over the entire lid or to add highlight to the corners of the eye. Housed in a handy tube with integrated sponge applicator – perfect to avoid loose powder spillages!!
zao-bamboo-cream-eyeshadow-252-bamboe

intensae_kiki_1
Kiki is a pretty cool toned blue polish with an creamy, opaque finish. A high performance, long-lasting lacquer that is 7-free. Intensae nail polishes are inspired by successful and inspiration women and this draws inspiration from the American actress Kirsten Dunst.
