Review: Plenaire Rose Jelly Gentle Makeup Remover

I love discovering new beauty brands that tick my (many)boxes and the joy of discovering new products that I love from the off can be immense (for me at least). I came across Plenaire at an organic beauty symposium about 18 months ago and they ticked many of the boxes, so I couldn’t wait to try the product they had kindly included in the goody bag.

Rose Jelly Gentle Makeup Remover (£16.00 /28.00) from Plenaire is a gel cleanser. Full disclosure; I don’t usually get on with gel (or foam) based cleaners as I generally find them really drying however this one is a different story.

This lightweight remover is truly the gentlest of souls and has been designed to be suitable for the most sensitive of skins. It contains pure distilled rose water which soothes and hydrates as well as making it smell beautiful!

The gel formulation is created using sugar esters (Sucragel) which are derived from sugarcane and the Sugar beet plant. Being plant based it biodegrades quickly and doesn’t negatively impact on the environment.

To use, simply apply a generous amount to dry skin and add water, emulsifying and dissolving the gel and creating a rose tinted cleansing milk. Gently massage in and rinse clean with cool water. I’ve used the jelly remover on SPF products and makeup and it has removed them all with ease – I haven’t tried it on waterproof mascara as I don’t generally use it (either on myself or in my kit) so the jury is still out on this but otherwise it’s a thumbs up.

Once removed, my skin has been left feeling super soft and smooth and remains so for much of the day.

Have  you tried any new products recently?
