Who Are They? Houston (Texas) based Red Apple Lipstick was founded in 2007 by Jay Harper who was concerned about the ingredients found in many cosmetics. Their motto is because every woman deserves safe makeup.
Eco-Credentials: The products are produced in small batches and are gluten free, paraben free, GMO free, lead and talc free and vegan.
The Products: RAL began life with just a range of lipsticks however they have now expanded to offer a selection of eye, cheek products and a small number of brushes.
Favourite Products: I have only tried a couple of the lipsticks so can’t comment on anything else unfortunately. The lipsticks I have tried (Hollypēno and the other I have forgotten the name of – neither of which I can see on the website so I assume are discontinued) both have great coverage and feel great on the lip.
Who Are They? Probably among the most loved of the natural make-up brands, RMS Beauty was founded by editorial Make-up Artist Rose-Marie Swift after suffering from health problems of her own.
Eco-Credentials: RMS Beauty products are formulated with raw, food grade and organic ingredients. Free of harmful chemicals, synthetic preservatives, synthetic vitamins, and genetically modified ingredients.
The Products: A great range of face, lip, cheek and eye products plus a small selection of brushes. RMS products are designed to be applied using fingers. The range of shades is good and given Rose-Marie’s background in fashion, totally on trend.
Favourite Products: I love this range and have tried pretty much everything. The Lip2Cheek Smile and Eye Polishes are amongst my favourites.
Who Are They? Rituel de Fille was founded by the three Ramos sisters who were inspired by the magical side of natural ingredients and the ritualistic, ceremonial power of pigment. Celebrating femininity, the range is inspired by iconic women throughout history, their signature Written in Blood lipstick was inspired by Cleopatra’s favourite, self-made shade.
Eco-Credentials: All Rituel de Fille products are 99% natural, and handcrafted without parabens, phthalates, synthetic dyes or synthetic fragrances. Each product is formulated with the smallest number of ingredients possible.
The Products: With wonderful magical and mythical names such as Obsidian, Serpent De Mer and Oracle, Ritual have a comprehensive range of products which are all in absolutely stunning shades. The spectrum of shades is pretty good and there is something for everyone.
Favourite Products: I haven’t tried anything from the range but having looked into them for this post, will definitely be giving them a go in the near future.
