J Is For…

I could only come up with two companies who fitted the bill this month, so in contrast to the past couple of posts, this months A-Z of natural and organic make-up brands is pretty short…

Who Are They? The first natural make-up company to become an international brand, Jane Iredale started life in 1994.  A Casting Director by trade, Jane worked with many actresses and models struggling with skin sensitivities and disorders as a result of the make-up they wore and saw the physiological effects that these reactions were having on them and wanted to help.
Eco-Credentials: A large proportion of the range is vegan friendly and a number of products are also suitable for those with Gluten intolerances; the brand is recognised as cruelty free by PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) and carries the Leaping Bunny logo.
The Products: Jane Iredale have it all sewn up in terms of make-up products. They have everything covered from Primer to Lip Gloss; each in a variety of shade and finishes – you could easily just shop from the one range. They  are one of the few natural make-up brands who offer a fantastic range of products for darker skin tones too!
Favourite Products: I use a lot of Jane Iredale products so it’s hard to pick one favourite. Personally I love the Lash Extender and Conditioner and the Beyond Matte HD Powders are favourites in my pro kit.

Who Are They? Established in 2005 by founder Karen Behnke who worked with PhD chemists, physicians, and microbiologists to perfect an antioxidant and vitamin-rich organic botanical juice which forms the base of all Juice Beauty products.
Eco-Credentials: Vegan friendly, formulated with USDA Certified Organic Ingredients, they are free from pretty much everything from parabens to PEGs.
The Products: Under Gwyneth Paltrow’s creative leadership, Juice Beauty’s scientists have developed the Photo-Pigments Make-up collection made with certified organic ingredients. The collection consist of a variety of face products plus a selection of cream based eye, lip and cheek products.
Favourite Products:  The Juice Beauty CC cream was my first discovery and it is still a product I like – i just wish the range of shoes was a little bigger! More recently I have tried the majority of the rest of the collection with the full coverage foundation and cream blusher being top of my list.
