Top Five: 60’s Inspired Nude Lip


Many of the big Autum/Winter 2014 shows looked to the 1960’s for inspiration. The catwalks of Oscar de la Renta, Mochino and Yves Saint Laurent were all rocking a retro vibe reminiscent of Marianne Faithfull or Britt Eckland.

Stepping back in time, here are my Top five suggestions for a sixties inspired nude lip…

Humble Me by Ilia Beauty


I don’t seem to be able to escape Ilia lipstick in my top fives… They have it just right. Humble Me is the ultimate nude; a honey-brown tone with a semi-matte finish; Subtle and understated but packs a bit of a punch!

Naturale Romantique by Couleur Caramel


A new discovery for me, Naturel Romantique is from Couleur Carmel’s Autumn/Winter 2014 collection and I love it! A soft brown toned nude (it looks very pink in the online image – it’s not!) with a satin finish. A delicate, flattering take on the sixties lip.

Dream State Lip Tint by Kjaer Weis


If you don’t feel you can go totally matte then go into a Dream State with this nude-beige. The sheer lip tint has a slight sheen and is perfect for creating a neutral, barely there lip – plus its the go-to favourite of Kirsten Kjaer Weis herself!
