More Skin Food! – Weleda

I told you back in January that I had a LONG list of products to share with you; things I should have mentioned before but haven’t because of my blogging break. So here we are. A long overdue post and MORE Skin Food!!

Weleda’s Skin Food surely needs no introduction. Nearly 100 years old and a skincare stalwart which is in the kit of almost every makeup artist I know. I first wrote about it on here back in 2015 and it’s had more mentions than I can remember since!

Skin Food is a skincare essential for me – both in my pro kit and at home. Tubes of every size, everywhere! I love the stuff! It has also featured more times on my Instagram grid than any other product!

In late 2018 (I told you some of these posts are long overdue) Weleda added three new formulas to its range – all a play on the extremely excellent Skin Food; Skin Food Light, Skin Food Body Butter and Skin Food Lip Balm. I thought I’d share my thoughts on the collection…

Skin Food Light (£8.25/£13.50) is, as the name suggests, a lighter version of the original. The same herbal scent and nourishing goodness but with a more fluid consistency. If you find the original a little rich or thick, then give this one a whirl. It works just as well as a hand cream and moisturiser as its comrade and is absorbed into the skin slightly quicker.

If you suffer with dry lips and like using the original cream to combat that flaky chapped-ness (is that a word?) then now there’s a Skin Food for that!  With organic plant oils and waxes, Skin Food Lip Balm (£6.95) has a rich texture to protect and comfort dry or chapped lips – and it smells the same too!

Following the success of the new products, in 2021, Weleda added to the Skin Food stable with a new body care product; the Skin Food Body Lotion.

I love the Weleda body lotions (Pomegranate and sea buckthorn both make regular appearances in my bathroom and pro kit) and I recently tried the Skin Food Body Lotion (£14.95) and it certainly doesn’t disappoint. If you have ever struggled to slather the original skin food over your whole body after a bath or shower and ended up using half a tube then you will definitely appreciate this. It’s exactly the same but all wrapped up in a lighter lotion and SO much easier to slather on. I can see it’s going to be another staple both at home and work!

I have yet to try the body butter but I will update this post once I have had an opportunity its to do so, so keep an eye out.

Have you tried any of the Skin food collection? Which is your favourite?
