Love Is In The Air

February 14th. St Valentine’s Day. From a pagan fertility festival that pre-dates Christianity to one of the biggest commercially driven days of the year (with more cards sent than any other celebration barring Christmas), Valentine’s Day is a date steeped in history (and flowers).

Following last Years post on getting your lips in tip top kissable condition, I thought I’d follow with a few lip based suggestions that would be the perfect choice for an evening of love – or for that matter, any evening!

Being as today is actually Valentines Day (note to self: post this sooner next year!), I’ve chosen products that you could purchase instore (here in the UK) during your lunch hour rather than online – apologies in advance if there are none of the chosen stores near you.

From nude to pink, coral to red, there will hopefully be something for everyone in today’s top five natural and organic lip products for utterly kissable valentines lips…

Vapour Beauty Elixir Plumping Gloss in Bitten

A deep cherry stain, Bitten is a great choice for those of you who like to rock a darker lip. The super hydrating properties of myrrh, Lecithin and jojoba oil plump whilst the multi-dimensional shine gives the illusion of beautifully voluptuous lips.

Dr Hauschka Lipstick in Pink Topaz

If bright is your thing then this lipstick may just be the perfect date. Pink Topaz is a vibrant pink from the Inner Glow collection that can be built up from a sheer balm like coverage to full on passionate pink.

Organic Glam Champagne Lip Gloss

How else would you celebrate Valentines Day than with a little champagne? This gloss looks and tastes like it’s straight from the vineyard. A clear, high shine gloss that lasts for ages and doesn’t stick to the glass.

Beauty Without Cruelty Natural Infusion Lipstick in Ripe Cherry

Cherries have long been linked with (amongst other things) love, lust and innocence so this vegan friendly lipstick is the perfect pick for a Valentines day make-up. The bright matte red has a slight pink undertone and wears well so you can focus on other things.

£9.99 from health food stores nationwide

Lily Lolo Lip Gloss in Whisper

A super cute soft pink gloss that will melt the hardest of hearts. Packed full of jojoba and vitamin E oil, Whisper coats your lips with a nourishing layer of chocolate flavoured gloss. See? chocolate can be good for you.

£7.99 from salons nationwide

Little known fact: St Valentine is the patron saint of epilepsy – a condition that is very close to my heart.

Whatever you are doing tonight (or whenever you are celebrating), have a lovely time x
