With World Vegan Month now well underway (it runs throughout November for those not in the know), I thought I would share my five favourite brands who’s products are all produced without the involvement or inclusion of animals or animal by products; eco brands which are one hundred percent vegan.
Here are my Top Five 100% Vegan Make-up brands…
Inika (Certified: Vegan Society UK)
I adore Inika products. In fact they were the source of my first ever product post way back in 2011!! Established in 2006, Inika have built a fabulous range of products which are not only 100% vegan but are also 100% natural – with many certified organic.
My favourites are the Organic Eyeliner Pencils (post coming soon), Pure primer and the Light Reflect Highlighting Creme.
Pacifica are pretty new to me however the products I have tried I have really enjoyed using. Pacifica make-up is formulated without the obvious nasties such as phthalates, sulfates, mineral oils and triclosan. The products are all vegan and also free from gluten!
I like the Smouldering Lining Gel and eyeshadow palettes.
Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics (Certified: Peta)
An oldie but a goodie! Make-up artist David Klasfield, created Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics (a disorder which he was diagnosed with at the age of 14) way back in 2004 and the company continues to be a market leader in unconventional vegan beauty.
The iconic OCC Lip Tars and loose pigments are an utter favourite of mine along with the Creme Concentrates.
I never pass up the chance to include Hurraw! in my posts. I’ve raved about them before (and here) but I love these little ovoid tubes of balm. If you are looking for a pure, unadulterated lip treatment then these are just up your street; raw, vegan and gluten free – what more could you ask for?
My balms of choice are the Sun and Moon Treatment balms and the Black Cherry Tinted balm – but any will do.
Not only do these guys do a good vegan lip, they also do it gluten free, corn free, paraben free and GMO free! As their name suggests their main products are lip based however they also sell a range of eyeshadows, eye primers and mascara along with a selection of brushes and palettes – all vegan of course.
I have yet to try the eye products however the lipsticks are pretty lovely.
There are many more brands out there which are 100% vegan and a large proportion of eco brands have vegan products within their ranges. If you aren’t sure where to start then check out the very brilliant Logical Harmony. They are the ultimate resource for all things vegan!!
