Lip Glosses aren’t a product that get a lot of love on here. Historically I tended to eschew glosses as the main event when it comes to lip colour, generally favouring a glossy lipstick and simply rely on them more for adding pinpoint shine where needed.
Ilia Beauty’s Love Buzz (£20.00) is a cool Pink with a blue undertone, which teeters on the edge of Barbie (pink). A fabulous shade which has become a firm favourite in my pro kit and when left alone too long in the make-up room, on myself too…
A great shade to wear alone or on top of lipstick (such as Ilia’s Neon Angel – both pictured above). Trying to reinject a bit of colour into my life this summer, I’ve been wearing it over the Lavera Soft Lipliner in Pink (No.2) or for a slightly more understated lip, with Odylique’s Lip Liner also in Pink (No.701).
Coconut Oil, Shea Butter and Vitamin E nourish and hydrate the lips so there is no dryness after or during wear. Hydration does not equate to tackiness and this gloss not in the least bit sticky (a BIG plus in my mind) so it can also be worn on the cheeks for a tonal look.
Lip glosses as a whole don’t have the longevity of wear if a lipstick, so this does need regular touching up, making it a less practical option for filming in some circumstances but if you can get in to do your magic or are just looking for a gloss for personal wear then this is certainly one to consider.
I’m still not and probably never will be a lover of lip gloss but I really like this one and if this is the shape of things from Ilia, will definitely be adding more of their glosses to my kit as times goes on.
Have you tried any of the Ilia Beauty lip glosses?

Interesting post, and I like that as a make-up artist you are promoting natural make-up. I’ve seen the Ilia brand dotted about so I’m glad you shared one of their products. I don’t tend to wear a lot of lip glosses, but they can look very flattering on the lips. :-) xx

Thanks for getting in touch Helen and thanks for the support. You are right, they can look lovely, I just don’t have the patience for endless reapplication on myself :)
