This spring Green People are celebrating their 20th anniversary! It’s hard to believe where the time has gone but over the course of two decades Green People have become one of the biggest names in organic Skincare. A few years ago (when they were just a mere sixteen years old), I wrote a post about the Green People story (which you can read here) and how they began with one single product. Fast forward to 2017 and they offer a fabulous range of products for the whole family and are now adding more…
To celebrate this landmark anniversary, Green People are soon to be releasing a new Special Edition Velvet Matte Lipstick – Damask Rose* (£15.00).
A beautiful nude-rose shade, Damask Rose is designed to be suitable for all skin tones and be universally flattering. A perfect colour dupe for some popular high street favourites, it is similar in tone to MAC’s Kind Sexy or Burberry’s Nude 407.
I love matte lipsticks and this finish is lovely. Although considered a matte lipstick, I would consider this to be a matte which is teetering on the edge of having a satin finish. This means it has the benefit of not only being a little lower in the maintenance stakes but also being flattering to all – especially more mature lips on which mattes can be a little unforgiving. Not so matte that it looks dry and cakey; Damask Rose has just enough of a sheen to give the impression of healthy, hydrated lips rather than a stark total matte finish.
Enriched with beeswax and super-nourishing Carnauba Wax, the lipstick is moisturising and comfortable to wear. It feels great on the lip with none of the heaviness or dryness you sometimes get with matte lipstick. As with any lipstick but particularly matte ones, if your lips are a little on the dry side then it is worth exfoliating and applying a swipe of balm a few minutes before application to ensure they look their best.
If you follow me on Instagram, you will have seen that I have been quite literally road-testing this lipstick and can quite honestly say that I am loving it! I’m not the biggest fan of a nude lip on myself (I love them on other people) but this one hasn’t left my lips for the past few days (except at night but you get the gist).
To date I have only used it on myself (it’s not been my product choice for the male grooming jobs I’ve had this week!) but a brief play in front of my camera at the studio has given me an idea as to how it would work on screen so I can’t wait to give it a whirl on set!! I will update you once I’ve had the opportunity.
Fancy picking one up for yourself? Damask Rose is available to pre-order from tomorrow (28th March) and officially launches next Wednesday (4th April). Enter the code NUDEOBSESSION at the checkout you will receive a 15% discount on your purchase (valid until 30th April 2017)!
Congratulations Green People! Here’s to another twenty years!!
