I seem to have been on a bit of a roll recently when it comes to Instagram competitions. I’ve been lucky enough to win a few beauty products of late (whoohoo!!!) and this included a couple of items from German make-up brand Benecos.
Choco Cookie Natural Eyeshadow from Benecos (£4.95 – yes, you read that right!) came as a bit of surprise and I have to admit I wasn’t expecting to like this eyeshadow quite as much as I do, or to end up writing a post about it.
Described as a shimmery brown with a subtle copper reddish tint (it looks greyer in the images), however on the skin I think it has a real old gold look to it – either way it is a beautiful colour and super flattering and the appearance in the compact (and the images online) doesn’t do it justice. This isn’t the most pigmented product payoff-wise however it does build up fairly easily and the satin finish is beautiful.
Velvety smooth, this eyeshadow goes on and blends like a dream. It contains macadamia and sunflower oil which both contribute to the super-smooth texture. There is little to no fall-out from the shadow on application either, which is always a bonus.
I don’t have particularly oily eyelids and so eyeshadow tends to stay pretty well on me. I applied the shadow to my lid and socket line around lunchtime and would say by early evening it definitely could do with a refresh. Not bad really considering the price point.
I commented on the price early on in the post and think that at less than fiver, this shadow is excellent value for money and I definitely recommend them to anyone looking to try something new. I’ve tried a number of the Benecos products over the years (I love their eye pencils) but have overlooked the shadows – until now! Choco Cookie is one of twelve single eyeshadows in the collection (there are also three quads) and so I will definitely be looking to try more of them in the future.
Sharing this has probably now jinxed my run of luck, but hey ho :)
Have you tried any of the Benecos eyeshadows?
