High standards of hygiene is essential for any Make-up Artist and I always keep an anti-bacterial hand spray (anti-bacs, as I generally refer to them) in my kit – both onset and in the make-up room. Hand sanitisers really have become a must-have product for many of us, but many traditional high street brands contain all manner of […]

Just to say that I love your posts!ReplyCancel

  • Love this post! I’m not a clean freak either, but like to keep some in my hand bag, just in case. Quash was recommended to me a while back by Sugarpuffish after I did a similar post, I keep forgetting to try it. Anyways, I had a look at the ingredients and they look fab! :) xReplyCancel

  • Thank you :)
I’ve recently come across the Quash line and although I’m still ‘playing around’ (do you do that with anti-bacs?) with it, I do see another to be added to the ‘to be written’ blog list!

Sometimes a product is so great that I am at a loss as to where to start when it comes to writing about it. How do I decide what aspects of the product is so good to mention first? This is one of those times…Hurraw! BalmIf you haven’t already come across Hurraw! balms, then you […]

  • Oh these look so fab! Also I don’t think there isn’t anything that’s not covered in that list! I seen blogger Sugarpuffish did a review on these a little while back, I think it was central perk or something? Anyway it was a coffee/latte type flavour & I’ve wanted to try it ever since! Good to know Cute Cosmetics do them :) xReplyCancel

  • They are utterly amazing and I don’t say that often or easily! A great product and as you say, nothing that isn’t covered! :) xReplyCancel

As you know I am principally a Make-up Artist who uses organic products, however, as I have said in the past, it is still necessary in the course of my work to occasionally use products that are not natural or organic. When this is the case, I have certain strict criteria that products and brands must […]

Very interesting indeed. I have always had a bad feeling about MAC, I even turned down a job with them because I just can NOT put products on others faces that I wouldn’t put on my own. I actually gave up being a MUA due to all the crap in the cosmetics but now I am on a journey similar to yours, I want to go all organic and natural (where possible). I can see it has worked for yourself and I say GOOD ON YOU Laura! :)ReplyCancel

    • Hi
Thank you for getting in touch. MAC’s change of stance is a real disappointment, as is Avedas. I only hope they see the light but I imagine the potential financial scale of the Chinese market will win over. It’s such a shame that you gave up your career because of the nasties – its great there are so many natural and organic alternatives out there now! Glad you are wanting to make the change.
      Thanks for your support

One of my greatest organic make-up frustrations is the lack of variety of shades in concealers and often find myself having to plump for a non-organic product when I need to use certain colours. This sounds silly I know, but as a Make-up Artist I work on a whole range of clients and it is […]

  • Hi Laura, I was just wondering how long a small palette like this might last for (light use daily) and whether it comes with instructions on how to apply it? I’m used to using a simply Lavera paste-like concealer, so am a bit baffled by all the different shades this provides! Thanks :)ReplyCancel

  • Hi. The palette will last a pretty long time – you don’t need to use much. It would be applied with a concealer brush ideally, although a delicate finger/cotton bud would do the trick too. To be honest it’s just a case of blending the colours on the back of your hand until you match your skin tone for the area you are applying it. It sounds complicated but it’s easy once you get the hang of it i promise. I hope this helps :)ReplyCancel

A great option if you are buying eco make-up brushes on a budget, are the Bamboo brushes from the e.l.f mineral make-up collection. The e.l.f bamboo brushes are pleasingly simple in their design and are entirely eco in their make up. The bristles are made of Taklon, a synthetic nylon (meaning the brushes can be used successfully […]
